Cole was born and still lives in [Faith, South Dakota](/source/Faith%2C_South_Dakota). He received a business associate degree from [Gillette College](/source/Gillette_College). In 2009, Elshere won the [PRCA](/source/Professional_Rodeo_Cowboys_Association) Championship Rodeo, the Ashley Rodeo and the Rosebud Casino.
