The **Cocytiini** are a [tribe](/source/Tribe_(biology)) of [moths](/source/Moths) in the family [Erebidae](/source/Erebidae). Adults of some members of the subfamily, especially in the genus *[Serrodes](/source/Serrodes)*, have a [proboscis](/source/Proboscis) capable of piercing fruit skins, allowing the moth to drink the fruit juice.[1]

## Taxonomy

The tribe may be most closely related to the clade containing the tribes [Poaphilini](/source/Poaphilini) and [Ophiusini](/source/Ophiusini), also within the [Erebinae](/source/Erebinae).[1] Composition of the tribe **Cocytiini** was discussed in Homziak, Breinholt & Kawahara, 2016.[2]
