**Errol Clyde Klotz** (born June 8, 1961) is a Canadian television [art director](/source/Art_director) and [production designer](/source/Production_designer). He worked as an assistant art director on several TV series filmed in [Vancouver](/source/Vancouver), such as *[The Hitchhiker](/source/The_Hitchhiker_(TV_series))*, *[21 Jump Street](/source/21_Jump_Street)* and *[The X-Files](/source/The_X-Files),* and as an illustrator on the films *[This Boy's Life](/source/This_Boy's_Life_(film))* and *[Look Who's Talking Too](/source/Look_Who's_Talking_Too)*.

He subsequently worked as a production designer for [Rainmaker Animation](/source/Rainmaker_Animation) on the animated series *[ReBoot](/source/ReBoot)* and on [The Transformers](/source/The_Transformers_(TV_series)) spin-off *[Beast Wars](/source/Beast_Wars)*.

## Awards and nominations

Klotz was nominated for a [Genie Award](/source/Genie_Award) in 1996 for [Achievement in Art Direction/Production Design](/source/Genie_Award_for_Best_Achievement_in_Art_Direction%2FProduction_Design) on the film *[Magic in the Water](/source/Magic_in_the_Water)*.[1] His work on *Beast Wars* won him a [Daytime Emmy Award](/source/Daytime_Emmy_Award) for Outstanding Achievement in Animation in 1998.[2]

## Personal life

On January 1, 1994, Klotz married actress [Gillian Anderson](/source/Gillian_Anderson), who played [Dana Scully](/source/Dana_Scully) on *The X-Files*, where they met on the set. They have one daughter (b. September 25, 1994).[3] The couple divorced in 1997.[4]
