# Clestrain Sound

**Clestrain Sound** is a [strait](/source/Strait) between [Mainland Orkney](/source/Mainland_Orkney) and the [Isle](/source/Island) of [Graemsay](/source/Graemsay) within the [Orkney Islands](/source/Orkney_Islands), [Scotland](/source/Scotland).[1]

Clestrain Sound lies in the western entrance to [Scapa Flow](/source/Scapa_Flow). Like other [seaways](/source/Sound_(geography)) within the [Orkney Islands](/source/Orkney_Islands), Clestrain Sound has been recognized for many years to be warmed by the [North Atlantic Drift](/source/North_Atlantic_Current) current.[2]
