# Clement Breton

English priest

**Clement Breton** [D.D.](/source/Doctor_of_Divinity) was an English [priest](/source/Priest) in the 17th century.[1]

Breton was born in [Uppingham](/source/Uppingham) and educated at [Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge](/source/Sidney_Sussex_College%2C_Cambridge),[2] He was [ordained](/source/Ordained) in 1631 and held the [living](/source/Living_(Christianity)) at [Church Langton](/source/Church_Langton) until his ejection in 1642. He was reinstated in 1660.[3] Breton was [Archdeacon of the East Riding](/source/Archdeacon_of_the_East_Riding) from 1661 to 1662;[4] and [Archdeacon of Leicester](/source/Archdeacon_of_Leicester) from 1662[5] until his death in 1669.
