# Clem Calnan

**Clement Noel Calnan** (25 December 1888 – 30 January 1974) was an English [cricketer](/source/Cricket). Calnan's [batting](/source/Batsman_(cricket)) and [bowling](/source/Bowling_(cricket)) styles are unknown. He was born at [Mile End](/source/Mile_End), [Middlesex](/source/Middlesex).

Calnan made his [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) debut for [Essex](/source/Essex_County_Cricket_Club) against [Yorkshire](/source/Yorkshire_County_Cricket_Club) in the [1919 County Championship](/source/1919_County_Championship). He made a further first-class appearance for the county in that season, against the [Australian Imperial Forces](/source/Australian_Imperial_Forces_cricket_team).[1] He later made two further first-class appearances for the county in the [1929 County Championship](/source/1929_County_Championship), against [Surrey](/source/Surrey_County_Cricket_Club) and [Somerset](/source/Somerset_County_Cricket_Club).[1] In his four first-class matches, he scored a total of 49 runs at an [average](/source/Batting_average_(cricket)) of 6.12, with a high score of 24.[2]

He died at [Southend-on-Sea](/source/Southend-on-Sea), Essex, on 30 January 1974.
