# Claudio Medina

**Claudio Medina Ricoy** (born 4 September 1993) is a Spanish [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [forward](/source/Forward_(association_football)) for [Tercera Federación](/source/Tercera_Federaci%C3%B3n) club [Caudal](/source/Caudal_Deportivo).

## Club career

Born in [León](/source/Le%C3%B3n,_Spain), [Castile and León](/source/Castile_and_Le%C3%B3n), Medina represented Casa Club León FC, [Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa](/source/Cultural_y_Deportiva_Leonesa), [CD Huracán Z](/source/CD_Hurac%C3%A1n_Z) and CDF Peña as a youth.[1] In 2012, after finishing his formation, he signed for [Tercera División](/source/Tercera_Divisi%C3%B3n) side [La Bañeza FC](/source/La_Ba%C3%B1eza_FC).[2]

On 14 July 2014, Medina joined [CD Numancia](/source/CD_Numancia) and was assigned to [the reserves](/source/CD_Numancia_B) also in the fourth division.[3] On 21 July of the following year, he moved to fellow league team [UP Langreo](/source/UP_Langreo),[4] and scored a career-best 28 goals during [the campaign](/source/2015%E2%80%9316_Tercera_Divisi%C3%B3n).

On 25 July 2016, Medina agreed to a contract with another [reserve team](/source/Reserve_team), [Sporting de Gijón B](/source/Sporting_de_Gij%C3%B3n_B) still in division four.[5] He again netted 28 times in [2016–17](/source/2016%E2%80%9317_Tercera_Divisi%C3%B3n), as his team achieved promotion to [Segunda División B](/source/Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n_B), and scored a further 12 in [2017–18](/source/2017%E2%80%9318_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n_B) as they missed a consecutive promotion in [the play-offs](/source/2018_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n_B_play-offs).

On 24 July 2018, Medina signed for [Segunda División](/source/Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n) side [Elche CF](/source/Elche_CF),[6] but was loaned to [CD Mirandés](/source/CD_Mirand%C3%A9s) in the third level on 28 August.[7] He was also a regular starter for the latter club, again scoring 12 goals as the *Rojillos* [achieved promotion to the second division](/source/2018%E2%80%9319_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n_B).

Upon returning to the *Franjiverdes*, Medina was included in the first team squad and made his professional debut on 8 September 2019, coming on as a late [substitute](/source/Substitute_(association_football)) for [Yacine Qasmi](/source/Yacine_Qasmi) in a 1–1 home draw against [CD Lugo](/source/CD_Lugo).[8]

On 2 October 2020, after contributing with 18 appearances overall during [the season](/source/2019%E2%80%9320_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n) as his side achieved promotion to [La Liga](/source/La_Liga), Medina terminated his contract with Elche,[9] and joined [Burgos CF](/source/Burgos_CF) in the third division just hours later.[10]

On 13 July 2022, Medina returned to Cultural, now being assigned to the first team in [Primera Federación](/source/Primera_Federaci%C3%B3n).[11]
