# Claude Sumner

**Claude Sumner**, [SJ](/source/Society_of_Jesus) (1919–2012) was a Canadian professor of philosophy who worked at [Addis Ababa University](/source/Addis_Ababa_University) from 1953.[1] He was best known for his work on [Zera Yacob](/source/Zera_Yacob_(philosopher)).

Sumner died on June 24, 2012, in [Montreal](/source/Montreal), Canada, at the age of 92.[2][3]
