'''Claude "Sandy" Saunders''' (January 25, 1912 &ndash; April 30, 2007) was a [Canadian](/source/Canadians) [rower](/source/rowing_(sport)) who competed in the [Olympic Games](/source/Olympic_Games) in 1936 in Berlin. He competed in the [1936 Summer Olympics](/source/1936_Summer_Olympics) in [Men's eight](/source/Rowing_at_the_1936_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_eight), but did not win a medal. He was also a spare at the [1948 Summer Olympics](/source/1948_Summer_Olympics) and coached Canada's rowing team at the [1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games](/source/1958_British_Empire_and_Commonwealth_Games) and the [1960 Summer Olympics](/source/1960_Summer_Olympics). He was Canada's [FISU](/source/International_University_Sports_Federation) representative at the [1964](/source/1964_Summer_Olympics) and [1968 Summer Olympics](/source/1968_Summer_Olympics). He was also president of the [Central Ontario Rowing Association](/source/Central_Ontario_Rowing_Association), the [Canadian Secondary School Rowing Association](/source/Canadian_Secondary_School_Rowing_Association) and the [Canadian Amateur Association of Oarsmen](/source/Canadian_Amateur_Association_of_Oarsmen).
