# Classic Serial

***Classic Serial*** was a strand on [BBC Radio 4](/source/BBC_Radio_4), which broadcasts in series of one-hour dramas, "Adaptations of works which have achieved classic status." It is broadcast twice weekly, first from 3:00–4:00 pm on Sunday, then repeated from 9:00–10:00 pm the next Saturday.

Works adapted have included *[The Aeneid](/source/The_Aeneid)*,[citation needed] *[On the Beach](/source/On_the_Beach_(novel)#Adaptations)*,[1] and *[A Dance to the Music of Time](/source/A_Dance_to_the_Music_of_Time)*, featuring such actors as [Joss Ackland](/source/Joss_Ackland), [Kenneth Branagh](/source/Kenneth_Branagh), and [Judi Dench](/source/Judi_Dench).[citation needed]
