# Clark Miller

**Franklin Clark Miller** (August 11, 1938 – November 5, 2008) was an American professional [football](/source/American_football) player in the [National Football League](/source/National_Football_League) (NFL) who played [defensive end](/source/Defensive_end) for nine seasons for the [San Francisco 49ers](/source/San_Francisco_49ers), the [Washington Redskins](/source/Washington_Commanders), and the [Los Angeles Rams](/source/Los_Angeles_Rams). He played [college football](/source/College_football) at [Utah State University](/source/Utah_State_University) and was [drafted](/source/NFL_draft) in the fifth round of the [1961 NFL draft](/source/1961_NFL_draft). Miller was also selected in the fourteenth round of the [1961 AFL draft](/source/1961_American_Football_League_draft) by the [Oakland Raiders](/source/Oakland_Raiders).

Clark Miller died of a [heart attack](/source/Myocardial_infarction) on November 5, 2008, at a hospital in [Paso Robles, California](/source/Paso_Robles,_California) a week after he was injured and hospitalized following a horse riding accident.[1]
