**Clara Luciani** (French pronunciation: [\[klaʁa lutʃ(j)ani\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/French), [\[lysjani\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/French); Italian: [\[ˈklaːra luˈtʃaːni\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Italian); born 10 July 1992) is a French singer-songwriter and musician.[2][3][4][5]

## Early life

Luciani comes from a [Corsican](/source/Corsicans) family. Her grandfather, whom she did not know, was from Ajaccio.[6] Luciani grew up in [Septèmes-les-Vallons](/source/Sept%C3%A8mes-les-Vallons), in the suburbs of [Marseille](/source/Marseille). Before her career in music, she studied art history and performed various jobs, including pizza chef, babysitter, sales at [Zara](/source/Zara_(retailer)), and teaching [ESL](/source/Teaching_English_as_a_second_or_foreign_language).[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

## Career

In 2011, she became one of the vocalists in the rock band [La Femme](/source/La_Femme_(band)). She sang two songs on their 2013 album, *[Psycho Tropical Berlin](/source/Psycho_Tropical_Berlin)*.[7] After leaving the group, she formed the duo Hologram with Maxime Sokolinski.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

In 2015–2016, Luciani accompanied singer [Raphaël](/source/Rapha%C3%ABl_Haroche) onstage for his Somnambules tour.

In 2017, she performed with [Benjamin Biolay](/source/Benjamin_Biolay) and released her first [EP](/source/Extended_play), *Monstre d'amour*, recorded with Benjamin Lebeau ([The Shoes](/source/The_Shoes_(French_band))) and Ambroise Willaume ([Revolver](/source/Revolver_(French_band))), to critical acclaim.[8]

On 6 April 2018, Luciani released her first studio album, *Sainte-Victoire*, which was well received by the press.[9][10] The following winter, she toured Australia, performing at the So Frenchy So Chic festival series in [Adelaide](/source/Adelaide), [Melbourne](/source/Melbourne), [Sydney](/source/Sydney), and [Brisbane](/source/Brisbane).[11][12] She released a second album, *Cœur*, in 2021.[13]

## Personal life

Since 2019, she has been in a relationship with Scottish musician [Alex Kapranos](/source/Alex_Kapranos), frontman of the rock band [Franz Ferdinand](/source/Franz_Ferdinand_(band)). The couple married in Scotland at the end of May 2023.[16][17] They have one child, a son, born in September 2023.[18]
