The **Egypt Civilization Party**, or **El-Hadara**, is a [secular](/source/Secular), [liberal](/source/Liberalism) political party established in [Egypt](/source/Egypt) in 2011. It describes itself as "in the center: in the right-wing economically, and left-wing socially."[1]

## History

The party was founded by [Mohamed al-Sawy](/source/Mohamed_al-Sawy), one of the two Al-Hadara members to be elected to the [People's Assembly](/source/People's_Assembly_of_Egypt) in the [2011-2012 parliamentary elections](/source/2011%E2%80%9312_Egyptian_parliamentary_election).[1] Another prominent party member is [Hatem Khater](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hatem_Khater&action=edit&redlink=1), head of the [Egyptian Food Bank](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Egyptian_Food_Bank&action=edit&redlink=1).

The party was formerly part of the [Moderate Current Coalition](/source/Moderate_Current_Coalition)[2] and the [Centrist Coalition](/source/Centrist_Coalition).[3]
