# Circular keyboard

A **circular keyboard** is a [musical keyboard](/source/Musical_keyboard) in the shape of a [circle](/source/Circle) or [semicircle](/source/Semicircle). They are a relatively newAs of concept in music,[citation needed] while a [curved keyboard](/source/Curved_keyboard) is mentioned as an invention of an Australian [Cluham](/source/Cluham) already in a Czech newspaper from 1909, to which (according to the 1909 newspaper) "experts attribute great importance for the future."[1]

- [Max Rebo](/source/Max_Rebo_Band) of the *[Star Wars](/source/Star_Wars)* franchise plays a circular keyboard in the 1983 film *[Return of the Jedi](/source/Return_of_the_Jedi)*.
- Bandleader [Zorak](/source/Zorak) sat inside a circular keyboard on *[Space Ghost Coast to Coast](/source/Space_Ghost_Coast_to_Coast)*, an animated television show that premiered in 1994.[2]
- The **PianoArc** is a circular wrap-around keyboard piano with 292 [keys](/source/Key_(instrument)) and a 6 ft (1.8 m) outer diameter. It was envisioned by Brockett Parsons, the keyboardist for [Lady Gaga](/source/Lady_Gaga) and first used in 2012. It was constructed by a friend for an estimated $120,000.[3][4][5]
- The **Revo 1** circular keyboard by Nu-Motion is a wireless round digital and [MIDI](/source/MIDI) keyboard with a custom stand and ability to hold 5 songs and 27,000 notes total.
