'''Ciorani''' is a [commune](/source/communes_of_Romania) in [Prahova County](/source/Prahova_County), [Muntenia](/source/Muntenia), [Romania](/source/Romania). As of 2021, its population was 5,934. It is composed of two villages, Cioranii de Jos and Cioranii de Sus; the former is the administrative centre.

The commune is located in the southeastern part of the county, on the left bank of the river [Cricovul Sărat](/source/Cricovul_S%C4%83rat), close to where it flows into the [Prahova River](/source/Prahova_(river)). It lies on the border with [Ialomița County](/source/Ialomi%C8%9Ba_County), at a distance of {{cvt|40|km}} from the county seat, [Ploiești](/source/Ploie%C8%99ti), {{cvt|23|km}} from [Urlați](/source/Urla%C8%9Bi), {{cvt|24|km}} from [Mizil](/source/Mizil), {{cvt|26|km}} from [Urziceni](/source/Urziceni), and {{cvt|64|km}} from [Bucharest](/source/Bucharest). Its neighbors are the communes [Fulga](/source/Fulga) to the north, [Sălciile](/source/S%C4%83lciile) to the east, [Adâncata](/source/Ad%C3%A2ncata%2C_Ialomi%C8%9Ba) to the south, [Rădulești](/source/R%C4%83dule%C8%99ti) to the southwest, and [Drăgănești](/source/Dr%C4%83g%C4%83ne%C8%99ti%2C_Prahova) to the west.<ref name="pc"/>

Ciorani is traversed north to south by the [DN1D](/source/DN1) road, which joins Ploiești to Urziceni. On the western side of the commune is the Ciorani railway station, serving the [CFR](/source/C%C4%83ile_Ferate_Rom%C3%A2ne) rail line Ploiești–Urziceni–[Călărași](/source/C%C4%83l%C4%83ra%C8%99i).<ref name="pc"/>
