# Chuck Cook

**Charles Henry "Chuck" Cook** (28 July 1926 – 23 February 1993) was a broadcaster and politician in [Canada](/source/Canada).

Cook was born in [Regina](/source/Regina,_Saskatchewan), [Saskatchewan](/source/Saskatchewan). He became a [CJOR](/source/CKBD_(AM)) radio [talk show](/source/Talk_show) host in [Vancouver](/source/Vancouver), [British Columbia](/source/British_Columbia) in the 1970s. He served as [Progressive Conservative](/source/Progressive_Conservative_Party_of_Canada) [Member of Parliament](/source/Member_of_Parliament_(Canada)) from 1979 to 1988 in the riding of [North Vancouver—Burnaby](/source/North_Vancouver%E2%80%94Burnaby) and from 1988 to 1993, in the riding of [North Vancouver](/source/North_Vancouver_(electoral_district)). He also ran for the [Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta](/source/Progressive_Conservative_Association_of_Alberta) in the riding of [Calgary Centre](/source/Calgary_Centre_(provincial_electoral_district)) in the [1967 election](/source/1967_Alberta_general_election) but came up a very close second to [Frederick C. Colborne](/source/Frederick_C._Colborne) of the [Alberta Social Credit Party](/source/Alberta_Social_Credit_Party).

He died of cancer before finishing his term as member in the [34th Canadian Parliament](/source/34th_Canadian_Parliament).
