'''Chrodebert I (Chrotbert, Radobertus, Robert I)''' (died 695), [Merovingian referendarie](/source/List_of_Merovingian_referendaries)  (as Chrotbert, 660–695), son of [Charibert de Haspengau](/source/Charibert_de_Haspengau) and his wife Wulfgurd.  Robert and his brothers [Erlebert](/source/Erlebert_(Th%C3%A9rouanne_Nobleman)) and Aldebert were the ancestors of the [Robertians](/source/Robertians).{{citation needed|reason=in direct opposition to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robertians|date=December 2023}}

Robert began his career as a [referendary](/source/referendary) to [Dagobert I](/source/Dagobert_I), the last powerful king of the Merovingian dynasty, and his son [Clovis II](/source/Clovis_II). He was the [Mayor of the Palace of Burgundy](/source/Mayor_of_the_Palace) (as Radobertus) from 642 to 662){{citation needed|reason=sources don't support statement|date=December 2016}} and possibly that of Neustria during the interregnum of [Ebroin](/source/Ebroin). He may have been [Bishop of Paris](/source/Bishop_of_Paris), but there is little evidence to support this.

Robert  had two children:
* [Lambert I](/source/Lambert_of_Hesbaye) of Hesbaye
* [Saint Angadrisma](/source/Angadrisma), married to [Ansbert of Rouen](/source/Ansbert_of_Rouen)

Lambert was the grandfather of [count palatine Chrodbert](/source/Chrodbert_(count_palatine_of_Chlothar_III)).<ref>Smith, William, and Henry Wace.
