# Christopher Wogan

**Christopher R. Wogan** (born February 15, 1950) is a former [Republican](/source/Republican_Party_(United_States)) member of the [Pennsylvania House of Representatives](/source/Pennsylvania_House_of_Representatives).

## Biography

Wogan grew up in a row house in Philadelphia with seven siblings.[2] He graduated from [Cardinal Dougherty High School](/source/Cardinal_Dougherty_High_School) in 1968.[3] He earned a degree in political science from [La Salle University](/source/La_Salle_University) (then La Salle College) in 1972 and a law degree from the [Temple University Beasley School of Law](/source/Temple_University_Beasley_School_of_Law) in 1975.[3] He has served as a member of the [U.S. Army Reserve](/source/U.S._Army_Reserve) and worked as [staff counsel](/source/Lawyer) for [SEPTA](/source/SEPTA) in the 1970s.[4]

Wogan was first elected to represent the [176th legislative district](/source/Pennsylvania_House_of_Representatives,_District_176) in 1980, a position he held until 2001, when he was elected judge of the Philadelphia County [Court of Common Pleas](/source/Pennsylvania_Courts_of_Common_Pleas).[4] As a Republican, he was endorsed by both parties and the [AFL-CIO Philadelphia Council](/source/AFL-CIO) and [AFSCME District Council 33](/source/American_Federation_of_State,_County_and_Municipal_Employees).[4]

As of April 2026, Wogan and his wife, Susan, reside in a retirement community in Pennsylvania.[2]
