After his ordination, Cardone served for two years as a parish priest at St. Gertrude Parish in [Madeira, Ohio](/source/Madeira%2C_Ohio). In 1988, Cardone moved to the Dominican [vicariate](/source/vicariate) in the Solomon Islands.
