**Christian A. Storms** (born August 13, 1996) is an [athlete](/source/Athlete) that participates in men's ice [sledge hockey](/source/Sledge_hockey). He is currently a member of the [United States Men's Development Sled Hockey](/source/United_States_men's_national_ice_sledge_hockey_team) team, of which he has been a member since 2016. His career began in his youth with the Jamestown Lakers of the [Northwest Arena](/source/Northwest_Arena) in [Jamestown, New York](/source/Jamestown,_New_York).[1][2] Other affiliations include the [Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey Team](http://www.buffalosabressledhockey.org/App/GetRoster/list/?teamid=777129&org=buffalosabressledhockey.org) and the [Northeast Passage Wildcats](https://www.nepassage.org/sled-hockey).

## About

Christian Storms, 23, began his [sled hockey](/source/Sledge_hockey) career at the age of eight in his hometown of [Jamestown, New York](/source/Jamestown,_New_York).[3] His first venture into [parasports](/source/Parasports), [sled hockey](/source/Sledge_hockey) (also known as [ice sledge hockey](/source/Ice_Sledge_Hockey) and [Para ice hockey](/source/Para_ice_hockey)) is a sport in which players are seated within specialized sleds and propel themselves using two mini hockey sticks equipped with picks on one end.[4] Born with [multiple congenital abnormalities](/source/Multiple_congenital_anomalies), he had developed an immediate affinity for the sled-based sport and its reliance on upper body strength.[5]

### Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey Team

Since 2014, Storms has played with the [Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey Team](http://www.buffalosabressledhockey.org/Page.asp?n=71085&org=BUFFALOSABRESSLEDHOCKEY%2EORG),[6] a [501(c)3 not-for-profit organization](/source/Not-for-profit_organization) in [Buffalo, New York](/source/Buffalo,_New_York). Playing as #96, he has been featured as both a player and as a [defenseman](/source/Defenceman). ### U.S. Men's National Development Sled Hockey Team

Storms was first selected to the [U.S. Men's National Development Sled Hockey Team](/source/United_States_men's_national_ice_sledge_hockey_team) in July 2016.
