'''Christian Jobin''' (born April 7, 1952) is a [Canadian](/source/Canadians) politician and was the [Member of Parliament](/source/House_of_Commons_of_Canada) (MP) for the district of [Lévis-et-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière](/source/L%C3%A9vis-et-Chutes-de-la-Chaudi%C3%A8re) from 2003 to [2004](/source/2004_Canadian_federal_election). Jobin was the [mayor](/source/mayor) of St-Étienne-de-Lauzon from 1993 to 2001.<ref name=cbc/>  He ran in the 1998 provincial election in  Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, but was defeated.<ref name=cbc/>  He also ran for mayor in [Lévis](/source/L%C3%A9vis) in 2001 but he was defeated by [Jean Garon](/source/Jean_Garon).{{Citation needed|date=December 2010}}

In 2003, Jobin won a by-election and became a Member of Parliament.<ref name="ledevoir" /><ref name="elections.ca" />  In [2004](/source/2004_Canadian_federal_election) though, the number of Liberal MPs from [Quebec](/source/Quebec) significantly decreased and Jobin lost the merged seat of [Lévis—Bellechasse](/source/L%C3%A9vis%E2%80%94Bellechasse) to [Bloc Québécois](/source/Bloc_Qu%C3%A9b%C3%A9cois) candidate [Réal Lapierre](/source/R%C3%A9al_Lapierre).<ref name=cbc />
He is a former accountant, and is married with 5 children.<ref name=cbc/>
