==Playing career==

Snell played in the Oshawa Kiwanis Minor Hockey program in the OMHA and was a member of the 1987–88 All-Ontario Midget Championship team.{{citation needed|date=January 2019}}

He was drafted in the 4th round (57th overall) in the 1988 [OHL Priority Selection](/source/OHL_Priority_Selection) by the Ottawa 67's where he played for legendary coach Brian Kilrea.{{citation needed|date=January 2019}}

He was a member of the Team Canada Under-20 1990 World Junior Championship team that captured a gold medal in 1991.{{citation needed|date=January 2019}}

He played in thirty-four games in the [National Hockey League](/source/National_Hockey_League): two with the [Toronto Maple Leafs](/source/Toronto_Maple_Leafs) in [1993–94](/source/1993%E2%80%9394_NHL_season) and thirty-two with the [Los Angeles Kings](/source/Los_Angeles_Kings) in [1994–95](/source/1994%E2%80%9395_NHL_season).
