**Chris Perfetti** (born December 12, 1988) is an American actor. As of 2026[\[update\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Chris_Perfetti&action=edit), he portrays Jacob Hill on the [ABC](/source/American_Broadcasting_Company) comedy *[Abbott Elementary](/source/Abbott_Elementary)*, for which he was nominated for a [Critics' Choice Award](/source/Critics'_Choice_Television_Award_for_Best_Supporting_Actor_in_a_Comedy_Series) and won a [Screen Actors Guild Award](/source/Screen_Actors_Guild_Award_for_Outstanding_Performance_by_an_Ensemble_in_a_Comedy_Series). ## Early life and education

Chris Perfetti was born in [Rochester, New York](/source/Rochester%2C_New_York). ## Career

Perfetti has appeared in *[Sons of the Prophet](/source/Sons_of_the_Prophet)* by playwright [Stephen Karam](/source/Stephen_Karam), playing the role of Charlie.[6] For his work as Charlie, he received a [Theatre World Award](/source/Theatre_World_Award) for Best Debut Performance in an Off-Broadway play.[7] Starting in December 2012, Perfetti played Bomber in the revival of *[Picnic](/source/Picnic_(play))* by [William Inge](/source/William_Inge).[8] Perfetti appeared as [Ariel](/source/Ariel_(The_Tempest)) in *[The Tempest](/source/The_Tempest)* at the Delacorte Theater in the summer of 2015. ## Personal life

In 2026, Brunson revealed in a public speech at the GLAAD Awards with Perfetti in attendance that Perfetti proudly told her he is gay while she was getting his thoughts on his *Abbott Elementary* character being gay.[9]
