**Chris Parfitt** is an American guitarist who was one of the founding members[1] of the [Elephant 6](/source/Elephant_6) [indie pop](/source/Indie_pop) band [The Apples in Stereo](/source/The_Apples_in_Stereo). Before his 1993 departure, he co-wrote the songs ["Tidal Wave"](/source/Tidal_Wave_7%22) and "Not the Same" with [Robert Schneider](/source/Robert_Schneider) and his performances appear on the band's original self-titled [EP](/source/Extended_play) *Apples*.

Parfitt met Robert Schneider in 1992 through a classified ad looking for a bass player. They hit it off over a mutual love of [Pavement](/source/Pavement_(band)) and [The Beach Boys](/source/The_Beach_Boys). Before long he was introduced to Jim McIntyre and Hilarie Sidney, and the four started the Apples.

Since leaving The Apples, Parfitt has been recording sporadically with the band [Vince Mole and His Calcium Orchestra](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Vince_Mole_and_His_Calcium_Orchestra&action=edit&redlink=1),[2][3] where bandmates include Kingsauce members Richie Chodes and Kevin Swope.[4]

On September 21, 2007, Parfitt made a brief appearance at [Maxwell's](/source/Maxwell's) in [Hoboken, NJ](/source/Hoboken%2C_NJ), a reunion of sorts during which he joined the band playing guitar on some of The Apples' early songs.[5]
