**Chris Lowrey** (born 15 August 1986) is a New Zealand [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) footballer who plays for [Toyota](/source/Toyota) in the Japanese [Top League](/source/Top_League). He previously played for Auckland in the [Air New Zealand Cup](/source/Air_New_Zealand_Cup) and the [Blues](/source/Blues_(Super_rugby_franchise)) in the [Super Rugby](/source/Super_Rugby) competition. His playing positions are [number eight](/source/Rugby_union_positions#8._Number_Eight) and [flanker](/source/Flanker_(rugby_union)). Lowrey won the [Blues](/source/Blues_(Super_rugby_franchise)) "Rookie of the year" honours in 2009.

Lowrey played club rugby for [Ponsonby](/source/Ponsonby,_New_Zealand), where he won the 2007 Auckland Club Player of the Year Award. He also competed for the [New Zealand Colts](/source/New_Zealand_Colts) against Canada in 2007. Lowery is a former student of Mount Albert Grammar School where he was Head Boy (2004) and captain of the First XV Rugby Team.
