# Chris Berrow

**Christopher Berrow** (born 1989[1]) is a British journalist, radio presenter and [continuity announcer](/source/Continuity_(broadcasting)). He presents *The Newsroom* on the BBC World Service and also presents the BBC's *Global News Podcast* and *Happy Pod*.[2] He is also continuity announcer at [BBC Radio 3](/source/BBC_Radio_3) and BBC Radio 4 Extra. He is also a newsreader across [BBC Radio](/source/BBC_Radio) and at [Global](/source/Global_Media_%26_Entertainment).

## Background

Berrow studied music at [St John's College](/source/St_John's_College,_Cambridge), [Cambridge University](/source/University_of_Cambridge).[3] He graduated with a BA (Hons) which was then later converted to an [MA (Hons)](/source/Master_of_Arts_(Oxford,_Cambridge,_and_Dublin)).[4]

## Career

Prior to working in broadcasting, Berrow taught the guitar.[5]

Berrow presented the breakfast show on [Cam FM](/source/Cam_FM), a student radio station, while at university.[6] He also presented the evening show on the station.[7]

In between finishing university and working at BBC Radio 2, Berrow worked at Affinity Radio.[8] As of 2013, Berrow was a broadcast assistant at [BBC Radio 2](/source/BBC_Radio_2) and a presenter on Fridays afternoons between 2 pm and 4 pm on [Cambridge 105](/source/Cambridge_105).[3] Also in 2013, Berrow began sitting in for other presenters on [BBC Local Radio](/source/BBC_Local_Radio).[9]

In 2015, Berrow began presenting a show on [BBC Radio Lincolnshire](/source/BBC_Radio_Lincolnshire)[10] which was broadcast between 3 pm and 6 pm on weekdays.[11] Later in 2015, he moved[12] to a 9am-midday Saturday morning slot on the station.[13]

As of 2016,[14] he was presenting between midday and 3 pm on weekdays on BBC Radio Lincolnshire,[15] in addition to the Saturday morning show.[16]

As of 2017, he was no longer appearing on all weekdays on BBC Radio Lincolnshire. In 2017, he began presenting a show on Wednesday evenings on [BBC Radio Lincolnshire](/source/BBC_Radio_Lincolnshire)[17] focusing on the county's present and past music.[18] Also in 2017, he began reading the news and continuity announcing at [BBC Radio 3](/source/BBC_Radio_3).

In 2018, he began reading the news for the [BBC World Service](/source/BBC_World_Service)'s English-language service.[19]

In 2019, Berrow presented a documentary on BBC Radio Lincolnshire about the singer and musician [Boz Burrell](/source/Boz_Burrell).[20]

From 2019 until 2022, Berrow was a continuity announcer at [BBC Radio 4](/source/BBC_Radio_4). This role also involved presenting the [Shipping Forecast](/source/Shipping_Forecast) on the station.

In 2019, Berrow began co-presenting a new podcast, the Naked Gaming Podcast.[21] He currently co-presents the podcast with Leigh Milner, his wife.[5] In the same year, he began presenting *The Newsroom* on the [BBC World Service](/source/BBC_World_Service),[22] a programme featuring reports from BBC journalists about the latest news. He continues to present the programme. Berrow has also reported on videogaming-related stories for the BBC World Service.[23]

Berrow is a continuity announcer on [BBC Radio 4 Extra](/source/BBC_Radio_4_Extra). He also occasionally reads the news on [BBC Radio 2](/source/BBC_Radio_2), [BBC Radio 6 Music](/source/BBC_Radio_6_Music) and [BBC Radio 5 Live](/source/BBC_Radio_5_Live). He also reads the news on radio stations owned by [Global](/source/Global_Media_%26_Entertainment).

He has a [TikTok](/source/TikTok) account on which he regularly posts guitar-playing tutorials;[24] in 2023, he was interviewed about his love for the instrument.[25] In 2024, he spoke to *The Independent* about his love for the band Oasis.[1] Berrow studied music at university.[3]

## Personal life

Berrow is married to the news presenter and journalist[26] Leigh Milner,[27] who also works for the [BBC](/source/BBC).[26] He lives in [Epping](/source/Epping,_Essex), Essex.[1]
