# Chris Appelgren

**Chris Appelgren**, also known as **Chris Applecore**, is an American record executive, illustrator, and musician who served owner and president of [Lookout! Records](/source/Lookout!_Records) from 1997 when label founder [Larry Livermore](/source/Larry_Livermore) and partner Patrick Hynes retired, until 2012 when the label folded due to financial troubles and non-payment of royalties.[1][2] In addition, Appelgren has created original artwork and album designs for many punk bands including [Blatz](/source/Blatz_(band)), [Green Day](/source/Green_Day), [Screeching Weasel](/source/Screeching_Weasel), [The Queers](/source/The_Queers), [The Donnas](/source/The_Donnas), and [Ted Leo and the Pharmacists](/source/Ted_Leo_and_the_Pharmacists).

Appelgren also performed as vocalist in bands [The Pattern](/source/The_Pattern_(band)), [The PeeChees](/source/The_PeeChees) and [Bumblescrump](/source/Bumblescrump) and was the original drummer for [The Potatomen](/source/The_Potatomen) as well as drumming for [The Lefties](/source/The_Lefties).[3]
