# Chowk Azam

**Chowk Azam** is a city in [Layyah District](/source/Layyah_District) of [Punjab](/source/Punjab,_Pakistan) province of [Pakistan](/source/Pakistan).[1][2] It is located 25 kilometres (16 mi) from [Layyah](/source/Layyah) city, the headquarters of the [Layyah District](/source/Layyah_District), on the Mianwali-Multan road and Layyah-Shorkot road.[3] According to the [2023 Census of Pakistan](/source/2023_Census_of_Pakistan), Chowk Azam has a population of 87,376.[4]

The city has many educational and vocational institutions, including Government Muslim High School, Divisional Public School, Government College for Boys and Government College for Girls. The campus of the [Government College University Faisalabad](/source/Government_College_University_Faisalabad) and [Bahauddin Zakariya University](/source/Bahauddin_Zakariya_University) in Layyah and Government Graduate College[5] in Chowk Azam provide point services for students commuting from Chowk Azam and the vicinity.
