**Chomphon** ([Thai](/source/Thai_language): จอมพล, pronounced [\[t͡ɕɔ̄ːm.pʰōn\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Thai)), also spelled **Chom Phon**, is a *[khwaeng](/source/Khwaeng)* (subdistrict) of [Chatuchak District](/source/Chatuchak_District), Bangkok, Thailand.

## Denomination

The name *Chomphon* (literally: "[Field Marshal](/source/Field_marshal_(Thailand))") after the name of the *[soi](/source/Soi)* (alley) Chomphon or Soi Lat Phrao 15, off [Lat Phrao Road](/source/Lat_Phrao_Road) in the early section that is situated in the area, not far from [Lat Phrao Square](/source/Lat_Phrao_Square). This alley used to be home to [RS](/source/RS_Public_Company_Limited), one of Thailand's leading music labels and entertainment companies.[2]

The area was declared a subdistrict in late 2003, along with four other subdistricts of Chatuchak.[3]

## Geography

Chomphon is the southeast part of the district. Other areas that surround it include (from north clockwise): [Chan Kasem](/source/Chan_Kasem) in its district ([Ratchadaphisek Road](/source/Ratchadaphisek_Road) is a borderline), Din Daeng of [Din Daeng](/source/Khet_Din_Daeng) (Khlong Bang Sue and Khlong Nam Kaew are the borderlines), Sam Sen Nai in [Phaya Thai](/source/Khet_Phaya_Thai) (Khlong Bang Sue is a borderline), [Chatuchak](/source/Chatuchak_subdistrict) in its district ([Phaholyothin Road](/source/Phaholyothin_Road) is a borderline), respectively.[4]

## Places

The stretch of the [Ratchadapisek Road](/source/Ratchadapisek_Road) in the area of Chomphon is lined with a large number of justice agencies. These include [Criminal Court](/source/Criminal_Court_(Thailand)), [Civil Court](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Civil_Court_of_Thailand&action=edit&redlink=1) and Office of the Attorney General.[4]
