**Chen Tang Jie** ([simplified Chinese](/source/Simplified_Chinese_characters): 陈堂杰; [traditional Chinese](/source/Traditional_Chinese_characters): 陳堂傑; [pinyin](/source/Pinyin): *Chén Tángjié*; born 5 January 1998) is a Malaysian [badminton](/source/Badminton) player.[1][3] A world champion, he and his partner [Toh Ee Wei](/source/Toh_Ee_Wei) won the [mixed doubles](/source/2025_BWF_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Mixed_doubles) title at the [2025 World Championships](/source/2025_BWF_World_Championships). He and Toh became the first ever world badminton champions in mixed doubles and the second ever world badminton champions from Malaysia after [Aaron Chia](/source/Aaron_Chia) and [Soh Wooi Yik](/source/Soh_Wooi_Yik). He was part of the Malaysian [2016 Asian Junior Championships](/source/2016_Badminton_Asia_Junior_Championships) and [2016 BWF World Junior Championships](/source/2016_BWF_World_Junior_Championships) team, and helped Malaysia to clinch a silver medal in the World Junior mixed team before being defeated by China.[4][5][6][7][8]

## Career

Chen was selected into the Malaysian squad for [2016 World Junior Championships](/source/2016_BWF_World_Junior_Championships).[9] Before that, he had shown his commitment on the court by reaching quarter-finals of the [Asian Junior Championships](/source/2016_Badminton_Asia_Junior_Championships) with [Pearly Tan](/source/Pearly_Tan) in July 2016.[6] They were just paired up few weeks before the tournament and was defeated by the Korean pair [Kim Won-ho](/source/Kim_Won-ho) and [Lee Yu-rim](/source/Lee_Yu-rim) (defeated 17–21, 16–21).[10][6] At the World Junior Championships, Chen took part in both men's and mixed doubles, where he partnered with [Man Wei Chong](/source/Man_Wei_Chong) and [Toh Ee Wei](/source/Toh_Ee_Wei) respectively. He showed his potential by finishing with a bronze medal in the mixed doubles with Toh before the duo were beaten by the Chinese pair [He Jiting](/source/He_Jiting) and [Du Yue](/source/Du_Yue) in straight games.[11]

Partnered with [Toh Ee Wei](/source/Toh_Ee_Wei), Chen entered the mixed doubles top 10 of the BWF world ranking in September 2023.[12]
