'''Cheapo Discs''' is a music [retail](/source/retail) chain with three locations in [Minnesota](/source/Minnesota) where customers can purchase new and used [compact disc](/source/compact_disc)s, [DVD](/source/DVD)s, and, at some locations, [cassettes](/source/compact_audio_cassette) and [vinyl record](/source/vinyl_record)s. The stores' trademark is a vast selection of new, used, and local music at competitive prices.{{Fact|date=January 2009}} While the stores generally focus on [popular music](/source/popular_music) of numerous types, the locations in [St. Paul](/source/St._Paul%2C_Minnesota) and [Minneapolis](/source/Minneapolis) also feature [jazz](/source/jazz) and [classical music](/source/european_classical_music). The Minnesota locations have "the world’s largest selection of Minnesota and North Dakota music." [https://web.archive.org/web/20060325015527/http://cheapodiscs.com/faq.htm]
Used discs purchased by Cheapo first go into unsorted racks—one for each day of the week—before being sorted and placed into the general collection. There are usually a few listening stations for trying out discs. Stores may also feature an area of "top ten" selections for a regional [radio station](/source/radio_station). Around 2004, ads called the company "the last authentic music store."
