==Biography==
Ringo was born and raised in [Corvallis, Oregon](/source/Corvallis%2C_Oregon). He graduated with a [Bachelor of Science](/source/Bachelor_of_Science) in international affairs and economics<ref name=yearbook/> from the [United States Air Force Academy](/source/United_States_Air_Force_Academy) in 1980 and served in the Air Force from 1980 until 1985. In 1985, Ringo graduated with a [Master of Business Administration](/source/Master_of_Business_Administration) from [Boston University](/source/Boston_University), and with a [Juris Doctor](/source/Juris_Doctor) from [Lewis & Clark Law School](/source/Lewis_%26_Clark_Law_School) in 1989.<ref name=votesmart/>

Ringo was elected to the [Oregon House of Representatives](/source/Oregon_House_of_Representatives) in 2000, defeating Republican John Scruggs and Libertarian Kevin C.
