# Charlie Getty

**Charles Matthew Getty** (born July 24, 1952) is an American former professional [football](/source/American_football) player who was an [offensive lineman](/source/Offensive_lineman) for ten seasons in the [National Football League](/source/National_Football_League) (NFL), mainly for the [Kansas City Chiefs](/source/Kansas_City_Chiefs).

Getty competed in [football](/source/High_school_football), [track](/source/Track_and_field_athletics) and [wrestling](/source/Scholastic_wrestling) at [Pompton Lakes High School](/source/Pompton_Lakes_High_School) in his hometown. He played [college football](/source/College_football) and [wrestled](/source/Collegiate_wrestling) for [Penn State University](/source/Pennsylvania_State_University). He finished fifth in the 1973 NCAA wrestling tournament and third in 1974.[1][2][3]

Getty later became an adjunct academic instructor and strength and conditioning coach for [Evangel University](/source/Evangel_University).[4]
