==Naval career==
The son of Lieutenant Commander Godfrey Style and his wife Sigrid, Style was educated at [Eton](/source/Eton_College) and [St Catharine's College, Cambridge](/source/St_Catharine's_College%2C_Cambridge), where he was an [exhibitioner](/source/exhibition_(scholarship)) and graduated with a degree in geography in 1975.<ref name="WW">{{Who's Who | title = STYLE, Vice-Adm.
