'''Charles Richard''' (10 March 1900 – 31 May 1978) was a [Progressive Conservative party](/source/Progressive_Conservative_Party_of_Canada) member of the [House of Commons of Canada](/source/House_of_Commons_of_Canada). Born in [Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, Quebec](/source/Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocati%C3%A8re%2C_Quebec), he was a dental surgeon by career.

Richard's first attempt at a House of Commons seat was in the [1935 federal election](/source/1935_Canadian_federal_election) at [Kamouraska](/source/Kamouraska_(federal_electoral_district)), where he was defeated by [Joseph Georges Bouchard](/source/Joseph_Georges_Bouchard) of the [Liberal party](/source/Liberal_Party_of_Canada).

During [World War II](/source/World_War_II) Richard was a member of the [Royal Canadian Dental Corps](/source/Royal_Canadian_Dental_Corps). At one time he also served as vice-president of Quebec's provincial dental society (''Société dentaire de Québec'').<ref name=CPG1960 />

He was first elected at the [Kamouraska](/source/Kamouraska_(federal_electoral_district)) riding in the [1958 general election](/source/1958_Canadian_federal_election). He served only one federal term, the [24th Canadian Parliament](/source/24th_Canadian_Parliament), before being defeated in the [1962 election](/source/1962_Canadian_federal_election) by [Charles-Eugène Dionne](/source/Charles-Eug%C3%A8ne_Dionne) of the [Social Credit party](/source/Social_Credit_Party_of_Canada).
