# Charles Andrew

**Charles Andrew** (1793–1855) was an English professional [cricketer](/source/Cricket) who made six known appearances in [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) matches between 1814 and 1824. He was born in [Pulborough](/source/Pulborough), [Sussex](/source/Sussex), and died in [Amberley](/source/Amberley,_Sussex), also in Sussex. Andrew was a [batsman](/source/Batting_(cricket)) (hand unknown). He did not [bowl](/source/Bowling_(cricket)) in any of his known matches. As a [fielder](/source/Fielding_(cricket)), he held three [catches](/source/Caught).

## Career

Andrew was chiefly associated with [Sussex](/source/Sussex_county_cricket_team_(pre-1839)), but he made his known [first-class debut](/source/First-class_cricket) in July 1814, aged 20 or 21, playing for [George Osbaldeston's XI](/source/George_Osbaldeston's_XI).
