# Chad Banks

**Chad Banks** is an American politician and [Democratic](/source/Democratic_Party_(United_States)) former member of the [Wyoming House of Representatives](/source/Wyoming_House_of_Representatives), representing the [17th district](/source/Wyoming's_17th_House_of_Representatives_district) from January 12, 2021 until January 10, 2023.[1]

A resident of [Rock Springs](/source/Rock_Springs,_Wyoming), prior to his election to the state legislature he served as manager of the Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency,[2] and previously served on the city council.[3] He is a graduate of the [University of Wyoming](/source/University_of_Wyoming) and [Western Wyoming Community College](/source/Western_Wyoming_Community_College).[2]

He was one of three [LGBT](/source/LGBT) legislators in the current legislative session, alongside the reelected [Cathy Connolly](/source/Cathy_Connolly) and [Dan Zwonitzer](/source/Dan_Zwonitzer), and the fourth out LGBT legislator in state history following the defeat of [Sara Burlingame](/source/Sara_Burlingame).[3]
