**Chacon Creek** is a small stream of water located in [Webb County, Texas](/source/Webb_County%2C_Texas), US, which runs through [Laredo](/source/Laredo%2C_Texas). The creek is formed 6 miles from [Webb](/source/Webb%2C_Texas) and runs southwest for 20 miles until it connects to the [Rio Grande](/source/Rio_Grande). Chacon was dammed in 1951 in east Laredo to form [Lake Casa Blanca](/source/Lake_Casa_Blanca), a 1,680 acres (6.8 km2) lake. The terrain surrounding the creek is mostly clay. The vegetation surrounding the creek is mostly made up of [mesquite](/source/Mesquite), [cacti](/source/Cacti) and [grasses](/source/Grass). Chacon Creek is cross by several highways in Laredo, including [United States Route 59](/source/United_States_Route_59), [Texas State Highway Loop 20](/source/Texas_State_Highway_Loop_20), [Business United States Route 59](/source/Special_routes_of_U.S._Route_59#Laredo_business_loop), [Texas State Highway Spur 400](/source/Texas_State_Highway_Spur_400), [Texas State Highway 359](/source/Texas_State_Highway_359) and [United States Route 83](/source/United_States_Route_83).[1]
