# Centrotoma

***Centrotoma*** is a genus of ant-loving beetles in the tribe of [Ctenistini](/source/Ctenistini) of the family [Staphylinidae](/source/Staphylinidae).[1]

The genus was first described in 1849 by [Carl von Heyden](/source/Carl_von_Heyden),[1][2] with the type species given by him as *[Centrotoma lucifuga](/source/Centrotoma_lucifuga)*.[1][3]
