**Cellius Inc.**[a] was a Japanese video game developer and publisher headquartered in [Shibuya, Tokyo](/source/Shibuya%2C_Tokyo), founded in 2007 as a joint venture between [Sony](/source/Sony) and [Bandai Namco Holdings](/source/Bandai_Namco_Holdings). The aim of the company was to assist in helping Sony compete with [Microsoft](/source/Microsoft) and [Nintendo](/source/Nintendo).[2] Sony hoped that the company would make up for the losses it made during quarter two of its financial year. [Ken Kutaragi](/source/Ken_Kutaragi) was announced as CEO.[3] [Bandai Namco Holdings](/source/Bandai_Namco_Holdings) held 51% of the company, and [Sony](/source/Sony) held 49%. The company planned to use Sony's [Cell microprocessor](/source/Cell_microprocessor), the heart of the [PlayStation 3](/source/PlayStation_3), for PlayStation 3 games and games for [mobile phones](/source/Mobile_phones) and [personal computers](/source/Personal_computers).
