'''Ceitho''' was an [abbot](/source/abbot) and a [saint](/source/saint) living in [West Wales](/source/West_Wales) in the 6th century. According to legend he was one of the five sons born to Cynyr Farfdrwch of [Cynwyl Gaeo](/source/Cynwyl_Gaeo), and a descendant of the ancient Welsh king [Cunedda Wledig](/source/Cunedda). Along with his brothers [Gwynno](/source/Gwynno), Gwynoro, [Celynin](/source/Celynin), and Gwyn, he became a saint. The five brothers are said to have founded the village of [Llanpumsaint](/source/Llanpumsaint) in [Carmarthenshire](/source/Carmarthenshire).<ref>T. D. Ceitho is also the patron saint of [Llangeitho](/source/Llangeitho), [Ceredigion](/source/Ceredigion), and is said to have founded an [abbey](/source/abbey) in which he secluded himself to live as a [hermit](/source/hermit).
