'''Castle Close''' is a circular [earthwork](/source/Earthworks_(archaeology)) located near [Stoodleigh](/source/Stoodleigh) in [Mid Devon](/source/Mid_Devon), England at [OS](/source/Ordnance_Survey) grid reference SS937181. It is described on maps as a settlement. Situated some 208 metres above sea level, overlooking the River Exe, it is most likely to be an [Iron Age](/source/Iron_Age) [Hill fort](/source/Hill_fort) or enclosure.

While the earthworks do not appear as pronounced as others nearby at [Huntsham Castle](/source/Huntsham_Castle), [Cranmore Castle](/source/Cranmore_Castle) and [Cadbury Castle](/source/Cadbury_Castle%2C_Devon) they are still in a classical layout typical of an Iron Age hill fort or enclosure.
