'''Carsten Schatz''' (born 10 January 1970) is a historian and a member of the [Left Party](/source/Left_Party_(Germany)) in Germany.

He lives in [Berlin](/source/Berlin), and joined the [Socialist Unity Party](/source/Socialist_Unity_Party_of_Germany) in East Germany in 1988.
