{{Short description|Arm of water in Puget Sound in the U.S. state of Washington}}
'''Carr Inlet''', in southern [Puget Sound](/source/Puget_Sound) in the [U.S. state](/source/U.S._state) of [Washington](/source/Washington_(state)), is an arm of water between [Key Peninsula](/source/Key_Peninsula) and [Gig Harbor Peninsula](/source/Gig_Harbor%2C_Washington). Its southern end is connected to the southern basin of Puget Sound. Northward, it separates [McNeil Island](/source/McNeil_Island) and [Fox Island](/source/Fox_Island%2C_Washington). The northern end of Carr Inlet is named Henderson Bay, which feeds into [Burley Lagoon](/source/Burley_Lagoon).

Carr Inlet was named by [Charles Wilkes](/source/Charles_Wilkes) during the [Wilkes Expedition](/source/United_States_Exploring_Expedition) of 1838–1842, to honor Overton Carr, one of the expedition's officers.<ref>{{cite book |last= Phillips |first= James W. |title= Washington State Place Names |url= https://archive.org/details/washingtonstatep00phil |url-access= registration |year= 1971 |publisher= University of Washington Press |isbn= 0-295-95158-3}}</ref>
