**Carlyle Deon Mitchell** (born 8 August 1987) is a Trinidadian former international [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [centre back](/source/Defender_(association_football)) for the [Trinidad and Tobago national football team](/source/Trinidad_and_Tobago_national_football_team).

## Club career

Mitchell was born in [Arima](/source/Arima) and educated at [Hillview College](/source/Hillview_College),[2] where he represented the school in the Secondary Schools Football League.[3] He began his career in the [TT Pro League](/source/TT_Pro_League) with [Joe Public](/source/Joe_Public_F.C.) in 2008.[4]

He signed with [Vancouver Whitecaps FC](/source/Vancouver_Whitecaps_FC) of [Major League Soccer](/source/Major_League_Soccer) on 15 September 2011,[5] making his debut for the club on 6 October 2011.[6] Mitchell was loaned to [NASL](/source/North_American_Soccer_League_(2011%E2%80%932017)) club [FC Edmonton](/source/FC_Edmonton) on 11 March 2013.[7] He was released by the Whitecaps on 14 November 2014 after their 2014 season ended.[8]

He signed for South Korean club [Seoul E-Land](/source/Seoul_E-Land_FC) in December 2014, for the 2015 season.[9][10]

In July 2017, he signed for Indian [I-League](/source/I-League) club [East Bengal](/source/East_Bengal_F.C.) after a brief spell with [San Juan Jabloteh](/source/San_Juan_Jabloteh_F.C.),[11] and appeared in the [Calcutta Football League](/source/Calcutta_Football_League).[12]

In early February 2018, Mitchell joined [Central FC](/source/Central_F.C.).[13] However, he left shortly after and signed with [Indy Eleven](/source/Indy_Eleven) on 12 February 2018, alongside Central teammate [Nathan Lewis](/source/Nathan_Lewis_(footballer)).[14]

Mitchell moved to the Philippines in early 2020, to join [Kaya–Iloilo](/source/Kaya_F.C.%E2%80%93Iloilo) of the [Philippines Football League](/source/Philippines_Football_League).[15]

Mitchell joined [Morvant Caledonia United](/source/Morvant_Caledonia_United) in 2023,[16] and played with them across three seasons, retiring after his last match on 2 June 2025.[17]

## International career

Mitchell made his international debut for [Trinidad and Tobago](/source/Trinidad_and_Tobago_national_football_team) in 2010.[4] He scored his first goal for the national side in a [2018 FIFA World Cup Qualification](/source/2018_FIFA_World_Cup_Qualification) 3–1 loss to Honduras on 15 November 2016.[18]
