**Carlos Verona Quintanilla** (born 4 November 1992) is a Spanish cyclist who currently rides for [UCI WorldTeam](/source/UCI_WorldTeam) [Lidl–Trek](/source/Lidl%E2%80%93Trek_(men's_team)).[6] He was named in the start list for the [2016 Giro d'Italia](/source/2016_Giro_d'Italia).[7]

## Career

Verona was born in [San Lorenzo de El Escorial](/source/San_Lorenzo_de_El_Escorial), [Madrid](/source/Madrid). On 30 July 2016, [Orica–BikeExchange](/source/Team_Jayco%E2%80%93AlUla_(men's_team)) announced the signing of Verona who would join the team for the remainder of the 2016 season as well as the 2017 and 2018 seasons.[2] In July 2019, he was named in the startlist for the [2019 Tour de France](/source/2019_Tour_de_France).[8]

Verona claimed his first stage win as a professional in the [2022 Critérium du Dauphiné](/source/2022_Crit%C3%A9rium_du_Dauphin%C3%A9); on the seventh stage, after being a part of a breakaway initially containing 29 riders, he attacked the group and rode to victory. He was the only rider to finish ahead of General Classification leader [Primož Roglič](/source/Primo%C5%BE_Rogli%C4%8D) on the stage.[9]
