# Carl Greenidge

**Carl Gary Greenidge** (born 20 April 1978) is an English [cricketer](/source/Cricket). He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He was born in [Basingstoke](/source/Basingstoke), [Hampshire](/source/Hampshire), the son of [Gordon Greenidge](/source/Gordon_Greenidge).

Greenidge played for [Gloucestershire](/source/Gloucestershire_County_Cricket_Club) and has in the past represented both [Northamptonshire](/source/Northamptonshire_County_Cricket_Club) and [Surrey](/source/Surrey_County_Cricket_Club). He has played Twenty20 cricket since 2004. In 2000, he was a candidate for [Cricket Writers' Young Cricketer Of The Year](/source/Cricket_Writers'_Club_Young_Cricketer_of_the_Year).

Following his playing career, Greenidge has worked as Head of Cricket at [Bancroft's School](/source/Bancroft's_School) coaching alongside [John Lever](/source/John_Lever) until the latter's retirement in 2019.[1][2]

Carl Greenidge played the role of his father, [Gordon](/source/Gordon_Greenidge), in the 2021 Indian Hindi-language film [83](/source/83_(film)).[3]
