# Cape Flinders

**Cape Flinders** is a [headland](/source/Headland) in the [northern Canadian](/source/Northern_Canada) territory of [Nunavut](/source/Nunavut). It is located on the western point of the Kent Peninsula, now known as [Kiillinnguyaq](/source/Kiillinnguyaq).[1]

The cape was named by Sir [John Franklin](/source/John_Franklin) in 1821[2] after the navigator [Matthew Flinders](/source/Matthew_Flinders).
