# Cape Dovers

**Cape Dovers** ([66°29′S 97°8′E](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=66_29_S_97_8_E)) is a cape fronting on the [Shackleton Ice Shelf](/source/Shackleton_Ice_Shelf), 5 nautical miles (9 km) south of [Henderson Island](/source/Henderson_Island_(Shackleton_Ice_Shelf)). It was discovered by the [Western Base party](/source/Western_Base_party) of the [Australasian Antarctic Expedition](/source/Australasian_Antarctic_Expedition), 1911–1914, under [Mawson](/source/Mawson), and named for [G. Dovers](/source/G._Dovers), cartographer with the expedition.[1]
