The '''Cannonball Cliffs''' ({{Coord|71|47|S|68|15|W|source:GNIS|display=inline,title}}) are cliffs at the south side of the terminus of [Neptune Glacier](/source/Neptune_Glacier) on the east side of [Alexander Island](/source/Alexander_Island), [Antarctica](/source/Antarctica). The feature consists of two east–west ridges about {{convert|500|m}} high, joined by a narrow north–south ridge. The feature was mapped from [trimetrogon](/source/trimetrogon) air photography taken by the [Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition](/source/Ronne_Antarctic_Research_Expedition), 1947–1948, and from survey by the [Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey](/source/Falkland_Islands_Dependencies_Survey), 1948–1950. The name was applied by the [UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee](/source/UK_Antarctic_Place-Names_Committee) for the sandstone in the area, which contains numerous spherical, brown [concretions](/source/concretions) known as "cannon-ball" concretions.
